Anyone can submit a link below. A person reviews each one against the six-point standard, records how it was verified, and only then adds it. Automated checks re-verify the registry; a failed re-check is shown, not hidden.

The standard

What “authenticated” means here.

    HTTPS on the source’s own domain

    Links must use HTTPS and resolve on the domain of the responding agency, an official archive, or an established records platform. Shortened URLs, file lockers and personal cloud drives are not accepted.

  2. 02

    Operator confirmed

    For a data store, we confirm who operates it: an official government domain, or a named organization whose ownership of the domain we checked. For a record, the release must be traceable to the agency that produced it.

  3. 03

    Provenance cited

    A shared record carries the responding agency, the request identifier or tracking number, the response date, and the requester or publisher, so anyone can trace the release back to the request.

  4. 04

    Checksum recorded

    For individual files we record a SHA-256 checksum at review time. A re-check downloads the file again and compares it, so silent replacement is detectable.

  5. 05

    Reviewed and dated

    Each entry names the check method and date. Entries that fail a re-check are marked as failing and kept visible rather than removed quietly.

  6. 06

    No private personal data

    We do not publish records that expose private individuals’ personal, medical or financial details, even if an agency released them. Redaction is the agency’s responsibility; publication here is ours.

Method

How the registry is kept honest.

The registry is a reviewed list, not a mirror. We link to records where they are officially held rather than re-hosting them, so provenance stays with the agency or platform that released them. Re-checks fetch each link, confirm it still resolves on the recorded domain over HTTPS, and for individual files compare the SHA-256 checksum recorded at review. Automated checks are blocked by some sites; when that happens the entry keeps its last manual check date and is noted. Inclusion is not endorsement of any record’s contents, and a public record can still be incomplete, redacted or superseded.
