Adaptive thinking is ON by default (a break from Opus 4.8) and can only be disabled at effort high or below; 300K output via the Batch API beta; the only model besides Opus 4.8 with fast mode.
At a three-to-one input-to-output ratio, Claude Opus 5 costs $10.00 per million tokens blended. A workload of one million input and 330,000 output tokens per day would run about $397.50 per month at list price, before caching or batch discounts.
